Getting Real: Chinese Documentary, Chinese Postsocialism

Discussing the formal and temporal qualities of post-1989 Chinese documentaries, pp. 123-4, Chris Berry briefly draws a parallel between post-1989 Chinese documentaries and the lecture format Chinese documentaries that preceded them (along with socialist realist films and some films of the Fifth Generation), to time-images and movement-image films (respectively).
